The Lay Ministries Training Programme of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), held from 1st to 14th March 2026, has been graciously brought to a successful conclusion at the Ramseyer Training Centre (RTC), Abetifi-Kwahu. A total of sixty-one (61) trainees – comprising fifty (50) males and eleven (11) females – participated in this formation session.
The programme encompassed the following courses of study: the Advance Certificate in Christian Ministry (ACCM), the Basic Certificate in Christian Ministry (BCCM-Catechist Option – Advanced), and the Basic Certificate in Christian Ministry (BCCM – Catechist Option: Foundation).
The Lay Ministries Training Programme of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana offers a comprehensive curriculum, including courses in Old Testament Studies, New Testament Studies, Church History, Evangelism, Church Growth, African Traditional Religion, Christian Spirituality, Understanding Prayer and Faith, Church-Based Counselling Ministries, Bible Study Methods and the Use of Bible Study Tools, Christian Leadership, Homiletics, Contemporary Liturgy, among others.
This training is purposefully designed to equip the participants with essential competencies in Christian leadership, sound biblical interpretation, Christian doctrine, evangelism, and conflict management, all to the glory of God and for the edification of His Church.
The Lay Ministries Training Programme of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana remains open to all faithful members of the Church who, in response to the divine calling of God upon their lives, earnestly desire to attain higher levels of competencies in biblical truth and Christian leadership, that they may serve the Church with diligence and faithfulness.
